Heated by natural gas, the Vulcan VIR2 deck broiler has a two-level design to support repeated use. Each deck is heated by four infrared burners; users can control the heat valves to adjust the burners' outputs for desired results. Foods can be placed on the cold-rolled steel cooking grids, which are lined with steel bars that create appetizing grill marks. Their steel composition also boosts heat conductivity to cultivate uniform results. The grids can be raised or lowered in five different positions to achieve desired cooking results and methods.

The Vulcan VIR2 broiler's stainless steel body withstands commercial wear from back-to-back use. It measures 36 inches wide by 42 5/8 inches deep by 74 inches high to fit various kitchen spaces. To maintain stability throughout use, it's supported by 6-inch stainless steel legs. Between its outer and inner walls, insulation keeps the unit's interior hot for back-to-back use. Overall, this unit generates 200,000 BTU per hour.
